His story

Mohammad Ghaemifar was a 22-year-old Iranian goalkeeper from Dezful in Khuzestan province.

On October 22, during the nationwide protests in Iran, he was shot from behind by Islamic Republic security forces in a blind alley in Dezful. According to reports, more than 40 shotgun pellets entered his head and neck.

He was transferred to hospital in critical condition after his heart reportedly stopped beating and was later revived through electric shock. However, he never regained consciousness and died after 15 days in a coma.

According to reports, Mohammad’s family was pressured and threatened by security authorities not to speak publicly about the circumstances of his death.

Mohammad dreamed of becoming a professional footballer and would often say: "I will make it to the national team."
