Iranians in Cities Around the World Commemorate the Anniversary of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's Passing, July 25, 2026

A group of Iranians living in Australia gathered in the city of Brisbane, on the eve of the anniversary of the passing of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, to honour the memory and legacy of Iran's late king.

Every year, on the anniversary of the late Shah's passing, Iranians hold this ceremony in cities around the world — a commemoration that, particularly in recent years, has drawn wider attendance and a more striking sense of fervour and grandeur.

Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi passed away in Cairo on 27 July 1980 and was laid to rest in the city's Al-Rifa'i Mosque.
