Prince Reza Pahlavi's Meeting with Sylvan Adams in Paris, July 26, 2026
Prince Reza Pahlavi's office published an account of his meeting in Paris with Sylvan Adams, head of the Israel branch of the World Jewish Congress.
Prince Reza Pahlavi met in Paris with Sylvan Adams, head of the Israel branch of the World Jewish Congress, and discussed a free and democratic future for Iran and the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between a free Iran and Israel.
At the meeting, Mr. Adams, stressing the support of Jews around the world for Prince Reza Pahlavi's vision of a free and democratic Iran, said:
“We will stand shoulder to shoulder with you.”
Prince Reza Pahlavi, pointing to the historical roots of relations between the two nations, said:
“What we are seeking to achieve in the twenty-first century actually began two thousand five hundred years ago.”As a sign of hope for the future, Sylvan Adams presented Prince Reza Pahlavi with two mezuzahs made of Jerusalem stone, one for Israel's future embassy in Tehran and the other for Iran's future embassy in Jerusalem.
The scrolls inside these mezuzahs were written by an Iranian-born Israeli religious scribe, a symbol of the historical bond between Iran and Jerusalem and of hope for a future in which the freedom of the Iranian people will open the way to peace, cooperation and shared prosperity.
Mr. Adams, as a highly successful businessman, also declared his readiness to invest in and take part in rebuilding a free Iran, and expressed hope that he would soon witness, in Tehran alongside the Iranian people, the start of a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
