Prince Reza Pahlavi's Message on the Anniversary of His Father Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's Death
On the 46th anniversary of the death of his father, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, Prince Reza Pahlavi published a personal tribute.
Forty-six years have passed since my father's passing, yet today he is the most alive political figure before history and in the hearts of Iranians.
The flame of the Iranian nation's love for him grows higher and brighter day by day. As the late Majidreza Rahnavard wrote on behalf of millions of young Iranians: “A generation fell in love with you who never saw you.”
My father loved Iran with all his being. His heart beat with the nature of this land, and rain falling on the plains of Iran was, to him, the best and most beautiful news.
At 22, he took over the country amid the difficult conditions of the Allied occupation and, relying on patriotism, guided Iran toward the gates of a great civilisation. Had the catastrophe of ’57 not diverted the course of our history, Iran today would be one of the most brilliant centres of prosperity and development in the world.
My compatriots, if we believe in his path, a great responsibility rests on our shoulders. To be faithful to his vision, we must take Iran back from this criminal cult and rebuild it.
Long live Iran.
