Prince Reza Pahlavi Meets Iran-Centred Writers and Intellectuals, August 10, 2026
Prince Reza Pahlavi met a group of Iran-centred writers and intellectuals to discuss the role of ideas, the pen and culture in the struggle for Iran's freedom.
At a meeting with a group of Iran-centred writers and intellectuals, Prince Reza Pahlavi discussed the role of thought, the pen and culture in the struggle for Iran's freedom, and in reclaiming the national narrative from the discourses that dominate intellectual, media and academic spaces.
At the meeting, a number of writers spoke about the continuity of the tradition of Iran-centredness and the pursuit of freedom from the Constitutional era to today, the role of women and new generations in breaking with the intellectual legacy of ’57, and the need to redefine the image of Iran in the media and intellectual space of the West.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening independent networks of writers and intellectuals, confronting stereotypes and distorted narratives of Iranian society, and separating the margins and noise from the real discourse of society.
