Prince Reza Pahlavi's Meeting with the Patriotic Doctors of Iran, August 13, 2026
Prince Reza Pahlavi met the “Patriotic Doctors of Iran” network to discuss medical support during the transition and the rebuilding of Iran's healthcare system.
Prince Reza Pahlavi met with members of the “Patriotic Doctors of Iran”, a network of Iranian physicians working to support the Iranian people and medical community today, while also preparing for a democratic transition and the rebuilding of Iran’s healthcare system after the fall of the Islamic Republic.
Drawing on experience from both inside Iran and across the diaspora, the physicians discussed emergency medical support, assistance for healthcare workers, care for victims of repression, documentation of the regime’s crimes and human rights abuses, and long-term plans for a modern, accessible healthcare system in a free Iran, one founded on professionalism, human dignity, and equal access for all.
At a meeting with a group of “Patriotic Doctors of Iran”, Prince Reza Pahlavi stressed the need for national solidarity and forward-looking thinking, saying that people should be judged not by their political past but by the role they play today for Iran's freedom and future.
Prince Reza Pahlavi once again recalled the four foundational principles of national convergence: Iran's territorial integrity; the separation of religion from state; the equality of all citizens before the law and individual freedoms; and determining the country's future system through a democratic process and the ballot box. He stressed that these principles provide the right ground for all who love Iran to cooperate on the path to democracy and the rebuilding of Iran.
Prince Reza Pahlavi met members of the “Patriotic Doctors of Iran” group, where cardiologist Paris Zandian described the group's efforts to support doctors and medical staff inside Iran.
“Loving Iran is not a political leaning or a party; it is a moral responsibility.”
Paris Zandian, a cardiologist and member of the “Patriotic Doctors of Iran” group, speaking at a meeting with Prince Reza Pahlavi, described the group's efforts to maintain contact with doctors and medical staff inside the country and to support them against political and economic pressure, from documenting and amplifying the voices of pressured doctors to the media and international bodies, to helping patients and supporting students.
Stressing that “loving Iran is not a political leaning or a party, but a moral responsibility”, he said that Iranians of every belief and orientation can stand together around love of, and responsibility toward, their homeland and strive to build a free and prosperous Iran.
