Prince Reza Pahlavi's Meeting with Iran Prosperity Project Experts on the Fuel Crisis, August 21, 2026

Prince Reza Pahlavi's office reported on his meeting with energy and economy experts of the Iran Prosperity Project on the fuel crisis, its roots, and solutions for the future:

In a meeting with energy and economy experts of the Iran Prosperity Project, Prince Reza Pahlavi reviewed the latest state of the fuel crisis in the country, its roots, and the scenarios facing the Iranian people.

At the meeting, the experts discussed corruption and organized fuel smuggling, the deterioration of energy infrastructure, the economic consequences of price increases, and the Islamic Republic's possible plans for fuel rationing and price liberalization. It was also stressed that the war did not create the structural problems of Iran's economy and energy sector, but rather made weaknesses accumulated over decades more visible and deeper.

Another part of the discussion was devoted to future solutions, from managing the crisis and easing the pressure on the people, to modernizing refineries and worn-out infrastructure and creating a sustainable and efficient energy system in Iran after the Islamic Republic.
