Birthday message from a group of political prisoners inside Iran to Her Majesty Empress Farah Pahlavi
Her Majesty Empress Farah Pahlavi,
Beloved Empress of Iran,
With the deepest respect and our warmest congratulations, we offer our greetings to you, to the Pahlavi family — builders and lovers of Iran — and to our dear compatriots on the arrival of 22 Mehr, Your Majesty’s auspicious birthday.
We, a group of political prisoners inside Iran, wish on this joyful occasion to express our affection and respect for you — a woman whose name, for us, is bound up with Iran’s culture and art, the safeguarding of our national heritage, and love of the homeland.
At a time when our beloved Iran bears so much suffering, faith in freedom and human dignity, and hope for a brighter tomorrow, remain the source of our endurance. Our wish is for an Iran in which no one is imprisoned for their thoughts and beliefs, and whose children can strive for the prosperity of their land in safety, freedom and dignity.
On your birthday, we wish Your Majesty health, peace and a long and blessed life, in the hope that one day we may celebrate this greeting in a free and prosperous Iran, alongside you and all the children of the homeland.
With wishes for the glory of Iran and the honour of the Pahlavi family,
With affection and respect,
A group of political prisoners inside Iran
